Iraq war decision 'lamentable'

One of the foreign office's top legal advisers before the Iraq war has said the decision-making process before the invasion was "lamentable".

Elizabeth Wilmshurst, who resigned in protest, told the Iraq inquiry "greater transparency" about "evolving legal advice" would have prevented the issue being left "entirely to the Attorney General".
