Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been visiting British troops in Afghanistan to show his support in the run-up to Christmas.
Mr Brown thanked the troops for their dedication, and held talks with the Afghan President, Hamid Karzai, at Kandahar airbase in the south of the country.
