More troops going to Afghanistan

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has announced plans to send 500 more troops to Afghanistan, but only if key conditions are met.

Mr Brown told the House of Commons the troops would be sent as long as they had the necessary equipment, if other Nato allies boosted troop numbers and more Afghan troops were trained.
