Osborne unveils public sector pay freeze

Shadow chancellor George Osborne has announced that a Conservative government would impose a 12-month public sector pay freeze in 2011.

He told the Tory conference in Manchester that this would not include public servants earning less than £18,000 a year, or servicemen and servicewomen serving in Afghanistan.
