London mayor Boris Johnson was one of the first speakers at the Tory conference.

He came to the podium to the sound of the EastEnders theme tune - a few days after appearing on the BBC One show.

He then told delegates that Manchester, the site of the Tory conference, was one of the few cities he had yet to insult.
