Former F1 driver Damon Hill, talkshow host Trisha Goddard and Agony Aunt 'Dear Deirdre' are all appearing at the Labour party conference this week. They are not appearing on the main stage, but on the fringes.
Much of the debate and discussion takes place away from the main hall in dozens of events which are organised by pressure groups, charities and businesses all trying to get their message across.
Topics can be varied - this year includes "the future of flood prevention", and "Labour must win for animals".
