Johnson welcomes airline trio's life terms

The home secretary has welcomed the sentences handed out to three British men who planned to blow up seven planes travelling between the UK and North America.

The trio have been jailed for life, with minimum terms of up to 40 years.

Alan Johnson MP said the length of the sentence reflects the severity of the potential crime.
