Prime minister's questions

During his weekly question session Prime Minister Gordon Brown accused opposition leader David Cameron of being "incapable" and said the Tories would "do nothing" if elected.

Mr Cameron used his questions to ask about ministerial resignations, saying the prime minister is "in denial" and highlighting Hazel Blears' resignation as "a direct challenge" to his authority.

Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg said the government is in "total meltdown" and the only choice now is between the Conservatives and his own party.
