Cameron calls for general election

Conservative leader David Cameron has called for a general election.

He has asked Tory activists to start collecting signatures for a mass petition, urging Gordon Brown to go to the country following the recent expenses scandal.

He was speaking at the launch of the Conservative European election campaign.
