Cable expects public control

Liberal Democrat treasury spokesman, Vince Cable, says the government must provide clear direction to the board of Lloyds to run the bank in the public interest.

The taxpayer is taking a controlling share of 65% in Lloyds Banking Group, up from the previous 43%, and is insuring �260bn of toxic loans.
