Brown on safeguarding UK jobs

Gordon Brown is hosting talks with business and union leaders about measures aimed at safeguarding jobs during the downturn.

Speaking at the summit, the Prime Minister spoke about plans to combat the UK's economic downturn.

Mr Brown stressed that failure to act now will mean a deeper and longer recession and he said: "this will not happen on my watch".
