In a statement to the Commons, Schools Secretary Ed Balls has apologised to teachers, pupils and parents for the fiasco surrounding last summer's Sats tests in England.
The exams watchdog has been strongly criticised after hundreds of thousands of pupils' test results were delayed and this year's league tables postponed.
