Darling defends economy remarks

Alistair Darling has defended his comments made in a newspaper about the state of the economy

Mr Darling told the Guardian newspaper that the UK is facing its worst economic crisis "in 60 years".

Speaking to the BBC, the Chancellor said it was important to tell people what was happening with the economy.
