Clegg: 42-day vote 'squalid'

Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg told the BBC that the parliamentary vote on 42-day detention without charge was 'squalid'.

He was defending his party's decision not to contest a by-election against Conservative David Davis.

Mr Davis resigned as an MP in order to stand again on the issue of the proposed new detention time limit.
