Government plans to use money in "dormant" bank and building society accounts to fund community projects were unveiled in the Queen's Speech. Cash from accounts untouched for 15 years will be taken and reinvested in youth facilities and social investment through the Big Lottery Fund.
The plans form part of the Dormant Bank and Building Society Accounts Bill.
Customers who later discover their money has been taken will be able to reclaim their money, the bill says.
