UKIP demands pamphlet is pulped

The UK Independence Party has demanded all copies of a 15-page pamphlet attacking its policies are pulped.

The pamphlet breaks a court order banning publication of details of a legal action involving one of the party's MEPs, Ashley Mote, UKIP said.

Labour MEP Richard Corbett said his document, which brands the party "waste of space", showed UKIP's "real face".

But UKIP said it did not address any of the "substantive" issues about Britain's membership of the EU.

Mr Corbett said his pamphlet, "25 Things You Didn't Know When You Voted For UKIP", has been brought together from dozens of sources each of which have been "carefully checked".

"The views expressed by UKIP's representatives range from the sickening, to the risible, to the downright bizarre. This report exposes them for what they truly are."

Mr Corbett says in an introduction that many people gave UKIP their vote because of the party's views on immigration.

A UKIP spokesman said: "There is a reference in the pamphlet to Mr Mote which we believe breaches the terms of the court order and we are demanding that all copies of this document be pulped, and that the cost to the public purse be borne by its author Richard Corbett."
