The website http://www.i-uk.com will enable international travellers to learn everything they need to know before heading for the ferry or airport.
Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said: "The launch of i-uk.com is about making it easier for people to interact with the UK." Trade promotion "The new web project showcases the best of British - our cultural heritage, our scientific and technological advancements and our enviable business environment. "Ultimately, i-uk.com will promote UK trade and culture aboard and attract investment, tourism and talent to the UK."
"Visitors to the site can access the information they need to study, trade and indeed, enjoy themselves in the UK." UK fashion The website features four core subject areas, which aim to demonstrate British creativity and innovation. These are: Life & Culture, Education, Business and Visiting the UK. Potential visitors can then find out information on UK fashion, music, sport and culture, travel, education, science, technology and tourism, along with trade and industry. The site will be highlighted in PR events, including a fashion show in Moscow, an internet competition targeted at Russian students, as well as an extensive messaging and advertising campaign in Singapore reflecting the latest UK trends and a two-day Indo-British festival in India. The project has been developed as part of the Foreign Office's enhanced online presence.
