Aviation authorities in the Irish Republic say flights in and out of the country will be banned because of possible risks from volcanic ash.
Ryanair's head of communications, Stephen McNamara, told the BBC that all of the airline's flights would be cancelled from 0600 to 1400 (0500- 1300 GMT) on Tuesday but that he was hopeful they would resume later in the afternoon.
