'Advancement' on NI talks, says DUP

A spokesman for the Democratic Unionist Party has said talks to resolve a dispute about devolving police powers to the Northern Ireland Assembly have undergone "considerable advancement".

The political parties have been trying to agree on the timing and circumstances of the transfer.

Speaking outside Hillsborough Castle near Belfast, the DUP's Edwin Poots said his party wanted ''certainty and clarity''.
