Martin McGuinness and Peter Robinson have been invited to New York |
A group chaired by former US President Bill Clinton has invited the first and deputy first ministers to a gathering of world leaders in New York next week. The Clinton Global Initiative takes place from Tuesday to Friday. It is understood new US economic envoy Declan Kelly is involved in plans for a session to deal with investment in NI. Republican sources expressed hope Mr Clinton may use his influence to help them overcome obstacles related to the devolution of policing and justice. Formed in 2005, the Clinton Global Initiative aims to "bring together a carefully selected group of the world's best minds and most distinguished problem-solvers to focus on practical, effective measures".
