Howard Wells claims he has been treated unfairly because he is English |
The chief executive of the Irish Football Association is taking a grievance case against the organisation's ruling body. Howard Wells claims he has been treated unfairly because he is English. There is also a dispute over an unpaid 30,000 bonus payment. Mr Wells has named two individuals in his complaint, one of them IFA president Raymond Kennedy. The case is due to be held before the end of the month. In his grievance, Mr Wells alleges remarks have been made which he considers reveal an anti-English feeling. The case also relates to a performance-related bonus said to have been agreed by the former IFA president Jim Boyce. The IFA has told the BBC that Mr Wells would not comment on what he considers a confidential matter. Mr Kennedy said he could not comment either for legal reasons.
