New childminding guide launched

Parents often find it difficult to find childcare

A new guide to help parents select suitable childcare has been launched by the Northern Ireland Childminding Association.

Its publication follows a recent survey which revealed that about one third of parents found the search difficult.

Bridget Nodder from the association said it was important that parents find the right care.

"They're going back to work and they're looking for childcare, but they don't know where to turn," she said.

"It's a big step for anyone to leave their child with what's virtually a stranger, so the more information they can have, the better.

"And that's what our guide aims to provide - clear, concise, accessible information on childminding."
