The Presbyterian Church had investigated the allegations
A Presbyterian minister from County Tyrone has been told he can resume his duties after being cleared of an accusation of child abuse.

The Reverend Lawrence Hilditch stepped down voluntarily from his duties minister of Castlederg and Killeter churches in January 2005.

It followed a complaint made by a member of his congregation.

Investigations by the police and the church have concluded that the matter should not be taken further.

Mr Hilditch was first installed as a minister in Moy, in 1994, moving to Newtownards in 2000. He went to Castlederg towards the end of 2003.
