Housing Associations are some of the main providers of rented housing in the province. The figures are contained in the Northern Ireland Housing Statistics report for 1998/99 which was published on Tuesday. According to the report, a total of 1,862 dwelling were started, a 45% increase on the 1997/98 figure of 1,280. Other key facts include: Northern Ireland Housing Statistics is produced each year by the Central Statistics and Research Branch of the Department of the Environment (NI). The publication contains information on a variety of housing topics including, condition, planning applications, homelessness, new house sales and prices and waiting lists. |
