Liberty X met Children in Need presenters Donna Traynor and John Daly |
Chart-toppers Liberty X have flown into Northern Ireland to help raise funds for BBC Children In Need. The band were in the province to urge people to support the charity, which this year celebrates its 26th birthday.
They met BBC Northern Ireland's John Daly and Donna Traynor, who will be co-presenting this year's local BBC Children in Need television show.
The band will be releasing their own version of disco-soul classic A Night to Remember for the charity.
Liberty X will be performing the official Children in Need song, originally a hit for Shalamar, on the big night.
Band member Kevin Simm appealed for people in Northern Ireland to do their bit for the charity.
"Families anywhere across Northern Ireland can do their own concert in school, or maybe a sponsored karaoke to raise money," he said.
"It's a serious cause but we're planning to really have a laugh and enjoy our performance so I hope everyone will enjoy a bit of fundraising as well."
BBC Children In Need is on Friday, November 18 on BBC1 NI from 1900 BST live from Belfast and London, with television cameras out and about at Pudsey parties across Northern Ireland.
Since 1980, over 10m has been raised on the night by generous donations and fundraisers in Northern Ireland.
