A house in County Antrim occupied by eastern European workers has been targeted in a firework attack, police have said. A device was thrown through a living room window of the house in Clonavon Terrace, Ballymena, at about midnight.
Extensive scorch damage was caused to the living room, police said, but no-one was injured.
The PSNI said detectives were keeping an open mind about the motive for the attack and appealed for information.
Police investigating the incident have removed the remains of the firework.
Local SDLP councillor Declan O'Loan said there was "no excuse or justification" for such attacks.
"It is only a matter of luck that no-one was injured or killed in this attack," he added.
