School concerns over bus service
School principal John Lockett
Mr Lockett said he was unable to get any information
The headmaster of a Belfast grammar school has said he is concerned about what Translink's new Metro bus service will mean for pupils next week.

John Lockett, head of Grosvenor in the east of the city, said he had been unable to get any information about the new timetables.

"You would think somebody would have consulted with us," he said.

In a statement on Friday, Translink said they have been in contact with Mr Lockett several times this week.

The principal added: "We are probably the major user of the buses on the Castlereagh Road - you would think somebody would have consulted with us.

"To reduce from a 15 minute service to practically nothing - without any indication to the school that was happening - seems crazy."

A Translink spokesman said: "We will be liaising with the school again today to discuss the new Metro travel alternatives," said a spokesman.

"We acknowledge that with any major change it will take time for our passengers to gain confidence in the new system, however, we are committed to reviewing the network in due course."

The new Metro service is set to be launched on 7 February.
