Two employees of the bank were held captive |
Chief Constable Hugh Orde is to brief the chair and vice chair of the Policing Board on the investigation into a 22m bank raid in Belfast. The briefing will also be attended by Assistant Chief Constable Sam Kinkaid, who is heading the inquiry into the Northern Bank robbery.
Mr Orde is also likely to make his first public comment on the robbery later this week.
He is expected to report to the board's corporate policy committee this month.
The robbers stole millions from the vaults of the bank's headquarters at Donegall Square West on 20 December, as the families of the two bank officials were held hostage.
The two families had to spend Christmas away from their houses in Poleglass, near Belfast, and Loughinisland, in County Down, after they were preserved as crime scenes.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland has said the possible involvement of paramilitaries is a "key line of inquiry".
But the IRA has denied involvement in the robbery.
The police have carried out a number of searches in west Belfast.
The bank raid is thought to have been one of the UK's biggest cash robberies.
Detectives now have a full list of all the stolen notes.
