A County Armagh call centre has gone into receivership.

AnswerCall Direct, which began life in the mid-1990s on the Garvaghy Road in Portadown, currently employs about 200 people.

The receivership announcement was made on Friday.

The receivers, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, said they were called in after a difficult trading period for the company.

However, they said they had received a number of enquiries about the business.

The firm, which last year announced plans to expand to 600 workers, is understood to have lost a major contract.
