Woman hit by runaway car
Ulster Hospital
The woman was taken to the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald
A woman is recovering in hospital after being hit by a runaway car as she walked along a pavement in County Down.

The car had been parked by a shopper in Central Avenue, Bangor.

However, it is understood that it rolled down the hill after a child, who was waiting in the car, let off the handbrake.

An eye witness said the woman was pinned to a wall by the car and passers-by had to lift it away to free her.

The woman was taken to the Ulster Hospital where her condition is said to be stable.
