It is the postman's second win on the National Lottery |
A Northern Ireland postman has taken delivery of 1m after a win in the National Lottery. Robin Green from Carrickfergus in County Antrim hit the jackpot after buying a 5 scratchcard in a local petrol station.
The 37-year-old has now been given time off work to consider his family's future.
Robin, who has worked for the Royal Mail for almost 20 years, is talking over his next move with wife Louise.
The couple have two children - Aaron, 6, and 19-month-old James.
"The big decision is whether I continue as a postman - the job I've been doing for the past 18 years," said Robin.
 | When he told me he'd won a million, I just laughed - but then Robin showed me the card and I was completely staggered |
"To be honest, it still hasn't sunk in and I won't take any hasty decisions.
"Louise may give up her job as an auxiliary nurse, so she can spend more time with the boys. My priority will be to invest the money sensibly to secure the future - particularly for the boys."
The postman discovered his win just minutes after buying the card in Carrickfergus.
"I've always been pretty lucky and I fancied my chances on the 30m Spectacular on which you can win up to 2m.
"I was sitting in the car alone when I scratched it - and, of course, I just couldn't believe my luck. When I returned home I told Louise I'd won something on a scratchcard - and first of all said it was 10."
Louise said: "When he told me he'd won a million, I just laughed. But then Robin showed me the card and I was completely staggered."
It is the second National Lottery win for Robin. He won 700 just before he and Louise were married and the money went towards the bridesmaids' dresses.
