Army bomb experts took the parts away for examination
A pipe bomb has been made safe by Army bomb experts in County Down.

The area at Lough Road in Dromore was cordoned off while the device was examined on Saturday.

Four guns and a quantity of ammunition had earlier been discovered close to the pipe bomb.

The find was made in undergrowth beside Lough Road on Friday night.

The weapons - two revolvers, a pistol and a machine-pistol - were taken for examination by ballistics experts

A police spokeswoman said other items recovered during the police operation were sent for forensic examination.

No arrests were made.
