A window in the ambulance was smashed with bricks and stones
A paramedic and two police officers have been injured during disturbances in north Belfast.

An ambulance was attacked in the Longlands estate in the Whitewell Road area on Sunday.

One of the crew members suffered an eye injury when a side window in the ambulance was smashed with bricks and stones.

The windscreen had already been reinforced to protect ambulance crews from attacks.

Two police officers were also hurt.

Gabriel McClean of the Ambulance Service said staff were angry.

"We are here to serve all the community, all of the time. That's all we want to do," he said.

Elsewhere in Belfast, the Army defused two pipe bombs in the Short Strand area in the east of the city.

The devices were found at the back of a house in Strand Walk on Sunday night.

The alarm was raised after a bang was heard in the area.

In Lurgan, County Armagh, a woman was treated in hospital for a mouth injury after disturbances involving up to 60 youths in the Market Street area.

The trouble followed a football match between Celtic and Rangers earlier on Sunday.

There was also trouble in the the Limestone Road area of north Belfast and in the Short Strand area of east Belfast.
