A blast bomb has been made safe by army bomb experts after being thrown at a police station in west Belfast.

The device, which police described as "viable but crude", was thrown at Woodbourne station, on the Stewartstown Road at about 2300 GMT on Thursday.

It failed to go off after landing inside the perimeter fence and was later dealt with by an army bomb disposal unit.

There were no reports of any injuries.
