Teenager dies after accident

The accident happened on the Antrim Road, Belfast
A teenager has died after a road accident involving a police car in north Belfast.

The 18-year-old was struck by the car on the Antrim Road shortly before 0200 BST on Saturday.

The police believe the accident happened when the teenager ran onto the road close to the Waterworks Park.

The police ombudsman has been called in to investigate the incident.

Hospital

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the police.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man man has died following a road accident near Portrush, County Antrim.

It happened shortly before midnight on Friday on the Bushmills Road.

The man was a passenger in a car. The driver and two other passengers are being treated in hospital.
