The deaths bring to 35 the number of people killed on the roads so far this year. In the latest accident, a motorcyclist and a pedestrian were killed on the Kilrea Road in Clady outside Magherafelt in County Londonderry. It is understood the motorcyclist was 30, while the pedestrian was in his sixties.
In County Down, Tony Crane, 19, and Patrick Rogan, 16, died when the car they were in crashed on the Ardglass Road in Downpatrick on Friday night. Both teenagers were from Killough. The car clipped a verge on the wrong side of the road, then went into a wall, before rolling onto its roof.
