School bus attacked
A bus carrying pupils from the Girls' Model School has been attacked by stone throwers in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast.

A window in the bus was broken as it passed the Ardoyne Road shop fronts.

The school is located off the Oldpark Road.

MP for the area Nigel Dodds of the DUP blamed nationalist youths.

"The police could do more in terms of a presence at Ardoyne shops and also to ensure that the school buses carrying Protestant school children are able to proceed quickly and without any hindrance past that flashpoint area," he said.

"When you look at the type of resources that the chief constable has committed to protecting children in other parts of the province - and indeed north Belfast - then it is only right that parents and kids going to the Model School should be afforded the same protection and resources."
