A fire at a disused shirt factory in Londonderry is being treated as arson.

Extensive damage was caused to three floors of the Tillie and Henderson building.

Police officers at the scene have recovered a number of items which are now under forensic examination.

The blaze was spotted shortly before 0600 BST on Tuesday.

Fire fighters have been carrying out a further search of the building, which is heavily smoke-logged.

Nearby Abercorn Road was closed for several hours during the fire.
