| Monday, 5 February, 2001, 13:59 GMT Movie role for Mumba? ![]() Samantha Mumba is auditioning for The Time Machine The Irish pop singer Samantha Mumba may be heading for a role in the latest Steven Spielberg movie. The 18-year-old singer, from Drumcondra in Dublin, is being considered for a part in the remake of The Time Machine. The film is based on the classic H G Wells novel and will star Guy Pearce and Jeremy Irons. Samantha has flown to the United States for an audition and to meet the film's producers. The singer is managed by Louis Walsh, who also manages Westlife and Ronan Keating. Samantha has already reached audience's in the United States. Her single, Gotta Tell You, has sold over 300,000 copies there and it has also gone gold in Australia. She was named as best new female in the Uk pop magazine Smash Hits' Poll Winners' Party in December. Her third single, Always Come Back To You, is to be released on 19 February. |
