A new web page has gone live providing information on stop-and-search and how the powers are being used in Wiltshire. The initiative was instigated by the stop-and-search working group which includes Swindon and Wiltshire Racial Equality Councils (REC).
"We understand that stop-and-search powers are necessary to keep local communities safe," said Abdel Boutarfas of Wiltshire REC.
The page offers an area for feedback and comments on stop-and-search.
It also provides information on an individual's rights if he is stopped and searched.
"It is vital that we work together to inform everyone, identify any changes needed to address disproportionate or inappropriate behaviour and ensure that all people, irrespective of any difference, are treated with fairness, dignity and respect," said Mr Boutarfas.
