Wiltshire Police has joined a nationwide campaign to cut down on identity fraud. National Identity Fraud Prevention Week aims to help county residents and businesses to protect their identities.
Det Supt James Vaughan said: "Identity fraud is a serious and growing problem which affects all our communities."
"We know the best way to safeguard our personal information is through strong preventative measures."
Police have advised people not to throw sensitive material away, including passports, driving licences, CVs, phone and utility bills.
