Labour MP Anne Snelgrove is tabling questions in the House of Commons about the collapse of the Swindon-based hamper business Farepak. Customers paid money monthly to the firm or its agents towards food hampers for the festive season.
The company ceased trading in October and said it was unable to honour its Christmas commitments this year. It is now in the hands of administrators.
This collapse left thousands of customers around the UK out of pocket.
Ms Snelgrove has tabled questioned about protecting hamper company customers from fraud; whether Farepak customers will be paid back before other creditors; and for an official statement on the collapse of the business.
The company, which also sold TVs, electrical goods and jewellery, employed 35,000 agents across the UK.
