Protest over hospital axe plans
Hundreds of protesters are marching in Trowbridge to show their opposition to plans to close the town's hospital.

West Wiltshire Primary Care Trust says it needs to make savings as it is currently 7.5m in debt.

It plans to replace the hospital with enhanced GP surgeries or 24-hour community teams.

Similar protests have taken place Westbury, Warminster, Melksham and Bradford-on-Avon where community hospitals face closure.

Devizes and Savernake hospitals also face the axe.

Neighbouring Kennet & North Wiltshire Trust, which manages some of the hospitals under threat, is more than 8.2m in the red.
