Police believe the same two men are responsible for a series of distraction burglaries in Somerset. The duo, posing as either waterboard or council officials is responsible for seven incidents between 7 and 9 April in the Bridgwater and Taunton areas.
In all cases the men talked their way into the homes of elderly and vulnerable people and stole cash.
Anyone with information about the robberies or the identities of those responsible is urged to contact police.
'Doorstep code'
On 8 April the men called at a house in the Docks area of Bridgwater but while they were there the son of the householder arrived.
He tried to detain them but was punched in the face.
Somerset police say other burglaries have taken place in Norton Fiztwarren, the Holway and Lambrook areas of Taunton, Middlezoy and other areas.
Both suspects are described as white men.
One is a stocky, 5ft 6ins with short dark hair. He is aged between 20 and 30 years old.
The second man is thinner, in his early 20s and about 5ft 8ins with mousey brown hair.
Police are reminding the elderly to remember to observe the "doorstep code" when unexpected callers come knocking.
The code advises looking through a window or door-viewer to see who is at the door before considering opening it on a chain.
Genuine callers carry identification cards and will not mind waiting outside while a phone call is made to verify their credentials.
