Church bells ring after 60 years
St Giles
Images were found of the types of bell to be recorded
The sound of church bells has been heard in a "ghost" village for the first time in 60 years.

The village of Imber on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire has been abandoned since 1943 when the Army took it over as part of its battle training area.

The St Giles church bells have gone, but a recording has been made with sounds based on similar bells.

The recording is being played at intervals during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

In January, a special service organised by the Friends of Imber group was held at the church.

The Grade I listed building was lit by candlelight for the occasion.

A memorial stone was also dedicated at the nearby Baptist graveyard.
