High-tech swimming pool opens
A new high-tech indoor swimming pool has opened in Wiltshire.

Malmesbury's 25-metre pool cost 2m and has a moveable floor to allow the depth to be altered for various uses, including toddler swimming.

The project - based at the Wiltshire town's Activity Zone Leisure Centre - is the result of 10 years' work.

It was a collaboration by the Malmesbury community themselves and North Wiltshire District Council.

Work on the pool, which was partially paid for by a Sport England lottery grant, started in September 2002.

A leaflet drop in the town has also encouraged people to sign up for swimming lessons.

They are also planing to use the pool for competitions and galas.
