Police warn of bogus callers
Police in Swindon have warned householders to be on their guard against thieves calling at their doors.

An elderly woman who was mowing her front lawn was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation about a cat.

While she was distracted, another man went into her house and stole several items.

A similar incident took place in the Collingsmead area of Eldene.

Three men claiming to be from an electricity company talked their way into the home of an elderly woman.

They stole cash from her handbag.

Police described the men as white and in their twenties. They were wearing dark tops.
