Leeds Rhinos player Ryan Bailey said he was "devastated" after his four Super League title winners rings were stolen from his family home.

Burglars removed glass from a door to gain access to Bailey's home in Stanningley on Sunday as the Rhinos played against Bradford Bulls at Odsal.

The four rings were among jewellery stolen during the burglary.

Bailey said he was "devastated" as the rings held "some very special memories" for him.

Family 'shaken'

The rings are presented to each member of the Grand Final winning team at Old Trafford and have a distinctive design incorporating the 'S' logo of the Super League.

Bailey is one of only seven players to have played in all four of the Rhinos' successes since 2004.

He said: "A lot of other things that were taken can be replaced but I can never replace how much those rings mean to me.

"They have some very special memories and I have earned them through years of hard work and determination, they are not just a piece of jewellery that you can buy.

"In terms of cost they are not worth that much but to me they are priceless. Thankfully my family was not at home at the time so at least they were safe but it has certainly shaken them up."

West Yorkshire police said they were investigating the burglary, which happened between 1355 and 2030 BST, and appealed to anyone with information to contact Weetwood Police Station.
