Mr Prow was helping put up the stage at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille |
The funeral has taken place of a technician from Leeds who was killed while setting up the stage for a Madonna concert in France. Charles Prow, 23, from Headingley, died from injuries he suffered when part of the stage roof collapsed at a stadium in Marseille on 16 July. The funeral service took place at Lawnswood Crematorium. Mr Prow's family, who described him as "happy-go-lucky", have asked people to wear bright clothes for the service. Technicians had been setting up the stage at the city's Stade Velodrome - home of the Olympique de Marseille football team - when the partially-built roof fell, bringing down a crane. French worker Charles Criscenzo, 53, was killed outright while Mr Prow died later in hospital. Madonna said she was "devastated" by the news and the concert was cancelled.
