Prisoner who absconded arrested

A 26-year-old man who absconded from prison has been arrested in Leeds.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the man was arrested in Darkwood Close, Shadwell, on Friday morning following a search of the area.

He is being held, along with two other people, in connection with a robbery at the Skelton Gate Post Office on 20 May, police added.

Police would not say from which prison the man had absconded or for how long they had been looking for him.

Police added that a 23-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of harbouring an offender.
